police shooting sparks unrest on the streets of charlotte, north carolina. "black lives matter, black lives matter, black lives matter." dozens of protesters faced off with police overnight. officers used tear gas to break up the crowd, which set fires and threw rocks and bottles at police. authorities say police were serving a warrant for another person... when they spotted a man getting out of a car with a weapon. when officers approached the man at his vehicle... police say he grabbed the weapon. the victim's daughter denies those claims... saying her father, keith scott was not armed. she says he was disabled and afraid of the officers. the f-b-i and the justice department are

investigation into the deadly shooting of an unarmed black man in oklahoma. investigators say they found the drug p-c-p inside the victim's vehicle. "shots fired shots fired ...we have shots fired - we have one suspect down." " tulsa police officer betty shelby shot terence crutcher - after his vehicle broke down on friday. crutcher was reportedly disobeying police commands by reaching inside the window of his s-u-v. that's when officer shelby responded with deadly force. "you all see him walking with his hands up, he's walking slowly, he's not threatening to anyone, he. . it's daylight, they have several officers on the scene, and they could have easily, easily resolved this matter with less than lethal force." " dozens of protesters are calling for the immediate arrest of officer shelby she has been on paid leave since the shooting.

the federal government has released new guidelines for self-driving cars. "it is a first of its kind, taking us from the horseless carriage to the to the driverless car." " the new guidelines detail how the vehicles should perform the guidelines include a 15-point safety assessment -- including how companies will validate their auto systems and make data available for federal review. the rules are designed to be flexible, ranging from cars with drivers to those without a steering wheel or brake pedal. new home. the polar bear --- just seven- months-old now has a new family at the moscow zoo the female cub named nika was found by villagers in eastern russia after apparently losing her mother to poachers. with the help of the defense ministry the polar bear will spend the next few years at the moscow zoo before becoming part of a breeding program. one grandpa loves his first granddaughter so much... he bought her a giant teddy bear! grandpa found the stuffed animal at costco for his grand-daughter maddie. her mom posted the pictures of the little girl next to the gigantic teddy bear and it's gone viral. grandpa says he's not sure how he'll top a gift for her first birthday. plenty more straight ahead on fox5 news this
